PROBO App Scandal: ED Raids Uncover Alleged Crore-Rupee User Fraud

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has launched an investigation into PROBO, a platform marketed as a place for “opinion trading,” following accusations of a large-scale gambling operation that allegedly defrauded users of crores of rupees.

ED Raids Target PROBO Offices Across Multiple States

The ED’s investigation stems from multiple First Information Reports (FIRs) filed against Probo Media Technologies, its directors, and promoters. The FIRs, registered under various sections of BNS, 2023, and the Public Gambling Act, 1867, led to raids in Gurugram and Palwal in Haryana, and Agra in Uttar Pradesh.

PROBO Accused of Masking Gambling as Opinion Trading

While PROBO presents itself as an opinion trading platform, the ED alleges that its operations are essentially a form of gambling, misleading users and leading to significant financial losses.

The ED is continuing its investigation to determine the full extent of the alleged fraud and the number of users affected.
