IIM Calcutta Rape Case: 9-Member SIT Launched to Investigate

Kolkata Police have taken swift action in response to a disturbing report of an alleged rape at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM-C). A nine-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to delve into the details of the case and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Allegations of Drugging and Assault

The victim, a student at IIM Calcutta, has provided a harrowing account of the events. In her statement, she alleges that she was invited to the boys’ hostel on campus under the pretense of receiving counselling on Friday evening. She claims the accused offered her pizza and cold drinks that were laced with sedatives.

Victim Fell Unconscious After Consuming Pizza

After consuming the offered food and drinks, the victim reports falling unconscious. The details of the subsequent assault are currently under investigation by the SIT.
