Over 300 Fake Spiritual Leaders Exposed in Uttarakhand’s Operation Kalnemi

In a significant move against fraudulent religious practices, authorities in Uttarakhand have apprehended over 300 individuals posing as spiritual leaders during “Operation Kalnemi”. The operation, spearheaded by Kumaon Inspector General (IG) Riddhim Agarwal, targeted individuals falsely claiming to be saints, babas, or spiritual guides across all six districts of the Kumaon region.

Crackdown on Fake Babas in Uttarakhand

The operation aimed to identify and take action against those exploiting religious faith for personal gain. IG Agarwal confirmed the widespread nature of the operation and the substantial number of individuals involved.

Authorities have initiated a range of legal actions against the accused, including filing First Information Reports (FIRs), issuing challans (official notices of violation), and implementing preventive detentions to ensure public safety and prevent further fraudulent activities.
