Former J&K CM Omar Abdullah Claims Police Mishandling at Martyrs’ Graveyard

Former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has released a video on X (formerly Twitter) alleging he was “physically grappled” by police officers while visiting the Martyrs’ Graveyard (Mazar-e-Shuhada) in Srinagar.

Abdullah Says He Was “Doing Nothing Illegal”

In the video and accompanying post, Abdullah states he was doing nothing illegal and questions the police’s actions. He explained that he hadn’t informed anyone about his visit because he was under house arrest the previous day, Kashmir Martyrs’ Day.

Visit Follows House Arrest on Kashmir Martyrs’ Day

Abdullah’s visit to the Martyrs’ Graveyard comes after he was reportedly placed under house arrest on Kashmir Martyrs’ Day. He suggests this house arrest was the reason he didn’t provide prior notice of his visit to the graveyard.
