TDP Questions Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision in Andhra Pradesh

Concerned about the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) sought clarification from the poll body regarding the scope and citizenship verification aspects of the process in Andhra Pradesh.

TDP Delegation Meets Chief Election Commissioner

A delegation of TDP leaders, spearheaded by State president Palla Srinivasa Rao, met with Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi in New Delhi. The meeting focused on the party’s apprehensions regarding the SIR process.

Focus on Scope and Citizenship Verification

The TDP expressed concerns over the specific details of the SIR’s implementation and sought clarity on how the ECI plans to address potential issues related to citizenship verification during the revision exercise. They emphasized the importance of a transparent and fair process to ensure accurate and inclusive voter rolls.
