TDP Raises Concerns Over Election Commission’s Voter Revision Process

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is seeking clarification from the Election Commission of India (ECI) regarding its Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls. A delegation of TDP leaders, headed by State president Palla Srinivasa Rao, voiced their concerns during a meeting with top election officials in New Delhi.

Meeting with Election Commissioners

The TDP delegation met with Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi. The meeting focused on the SIR and its potential impact on voters. TDP representatives expressed their anxieties about the scope of the revision and how it might affect questions of citizenship.

Seeking Transparency and Clarity

The TDP’s primary goal is to ensure a transparent and fair electoral process. They are seeking further details from the ECI to understand the SIR’s implications fully and address any potential issues that could arise. The party hopes to work with the ECI to ensure all eligible citizens can exercise their right to vote without confusion or disenfranchisement.
